This colorful nature photograph is a glimpse into life in a remote Panamanian village that I visit occasionally to shop in or catch a bus to Panamá City. There are small villages along the waterways that rely on this type of boat, called a kyucka to fish a for basic needs and transportation. On the water in remote islands and coastal regions, these boats are the lifeline for many families and communities.
